Frequently Asked Questions?

How many times can this media be recycled? (click for answer)

Typical recycle count 1-3 times depending on use, nozzle and system setup. We generally do not recommend recycling (especially fine glass).

When should I use crushed glass? (click for answer)

Use when you can't reclaim and recycle your media and but want a fast cutting abrasive. Typically excels when blasted outside and tarps can be laid down to catch spent glass. Used on a wide variety of applications because of fast cutting ability, relatively low cost, easy cleanup, and ability to cut aggressive and delicate. Very versatile media.

How much does it cost? (click for answer)

About $0.25 per pound. $480 per ton / $12 per bag. Sold in 3,000 lb super sacks and 55 lb bags (2200 lb pallets for full skid).

Usage & Typical Applications

Crushed glass is commonly used where aggressive rust, mill scale, and coating removal are required with lower dust and minimal surface contamination. Also, fine glass can be blasted at low pressure and become extremely effective for delicate substrates.

How to Choose the Right Grit Size?

Select the particle size based on desired profile and surface condition — finer grits for delicate surfaces, coarser grits for heavy rust/scale removal.
